Citigroup European HQ Developer: Canary Wharf Management Contractor: Canary Wharf Construction Consultant: TMP The DS (Dockside) development complex on Canary Wharf's east side provides the location for the new European headquarters of Citigroup, the American banking giant. Linked to the earlier 18 floor DS2 building, the whole complex can be viewed from a total of 4 BMS workstations. The 24 month programme was carried out by Eton's on-site project team using our own inhouse electrical installation division to carry out the wiring. An electronic document management system was utilized throughout the project through to submitting all O&M manuals. On project completion, Eton's service division took on the maintenance of the system working along side the Citigroup FM team with 3 permanent site based controls engineers. Environmental conditions are critical for the Citigroup business as many IT rooms occupy the building. The building consists of 44 floors, with mechanical plant rooms on 3 levels. Each occupied floor has 2 compartment units serving on average 50 Fan Assisted VAV boxes. A total of over 2000 boxes makes this installation one of the largest of its kind outside North America. 2 separate chiller systems provide essential and non essential chilled water to the building. The B.M.S. has a high level serial interface with each of the chillers providing the facility to retrieve data to display on the B.M.S. workstations.
